Ten years ago a small idea sparked by a love for dogs and British heritage blossomed into a luxury dog brand. Teddy Maximus was founded with a simple but powerful mission - to create stylish, high-quality accessories that celebrate the special bond between dogs and their owners and to create more moments to adventure together in style.
Our 2-in-1 dog carrier has become a daily champion for many of you across the globe. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the milestones, memories, and community that have made this journey unforgettable. From our first ever customer show at Discover Dogs to exciting brand collabs and more, it's been an amazing journey and we are so grateful that you've come on it with us.
The Birth of Teddy Maximus
Teddy Maximus was born out of a heartfelt passion for dogs, design, and craftsmanship. Inspired by Teddy, a long haired cream dachshund, I envisioned a brand that blended traditional British elegance with playful charm. From the start, our goal was clear - to bring joy to dogs and their humans through beautifully made, functional products that elevate everyday walks and adventures.
The name itself – Teddy Maximus – was a tribute to the pup who started it all. Teddy is not only our mascot but the muse behind our first collection and many since. He continues to guide our brand ethos - fun, luxury British style.
British Craftsmanship at Its Finest
One of our proudest achievements over the past decade has been our commitment to British craftsmanship. From day one, we made a conscious decision to partner with as many British makers as possible. Our luxury leather leads and collarsare made by a Leathersmith in London and our leather carrier straps are hand cut in Leather works in the UK.
Our collections feature Liberty print fabrics andvegetable-tanned leathers – all chosen for their quality. I'm delighted that I'm still using the same leather lead we made over 10 years ago - it's developed a gorgeous patina and it's so soft to hold.
Iconic Collections & Customer Favourites
As we look back, it’s impossible not to highlight some of our most iconic collections. We've been honoured to design exclusive collections for Liberty London loved by pups across the city and further afield.
From the whimsical floral prints to our classic quilted carriers, each piece has been thoughtfully designed to reflect both fashion and function.
Our Sand Sheltie collection and Strawberry Thief collections have featured as the go to pieces for pampered pooches checking in to The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hyde Park. We had alot of fun shooting the collections across the years.
And of course, the original 2-in-1 Teddy Maximus Dog Carrier and Travel Bed remains a firm favourite – combining comfort, style, and practicality for pups on the go. Whether you’re travelling by train, hopping in a taxi, or simply enjoying a stroll through the city, our carriers have made journeys more comfortable for thousands of dogs. We just love seeing your adventures together!

Over the past 10 years, we’ve connected with many dog lovers who share our love for style and four-legged companionship and I have personally made life long friends through a wonderful community of dog lovers.
From puppy showers and seasonal pop-ups to interactive events and social campaigns, every interaction has enriched our journey. We've travelled the globe from LA to Japan and we’re constantly inspired by your photos, stories and loyalty – you’ve truly become part of the Teddy Maximus family. Thank you.
Looking Back – and Leaping Forward
As we blow out the candles on our 10th birthday cake (dog-friendly, of course!), we’re filled with gratitude and excitement. The past decade has brought incredible growth, meaningful partnerships and memories we’ll cherish forever.
But we’re not done yet...
