Inside Team Teddy: An Interview with Teddy Maximus Founder Holly Simpson

For Holly and Teddy Maximus, luxury dog accessories have always been about more than beautiful products; they have been about the people and dogs behind them. 

Having spent a decade building a British brand beloved by pet owners worldwide, founder Holly Simpson sat down to discuss the inspiration, meaning, success and future plans for Team Teddy. The exclusive VIP membership has created a genuine community of dog lovers united by shared values and an unbreakable love for their four-legged companions.

What is Team Teddy and what inspired you to create it?

“Team Teddy is our exclusive VIP group for dog lovers, brand ambassadors and Teddy Maximus customers,”Holly explains. ”Members can look forward to fun events, discounts and first previews. But, the inspiration for it came from something quite natural”

Holly recalls the early days of the brand, when it became clear that Teddy Maximus was gathering a remarkable group of people.“We started to notice how many wonderful people and dogs were gravitating towards us. We wanted to build a space where these connections could grow beyond products to something real. It is a genuine community built around shared values, experiences and a love for our four-legged companions. It was also our way of saying thank you to our friends.”

What makes Team Teddy different from a typical brand loyalty scheme?

For Holly, Team Teddy was never designed to be a conventional rewards programme, it was built on the core belief that dogs bring people together. Holly is clear on what sets it apart. 

“At Teddy Maximus, we have always believed that dogs bring people together. Team Teddy was inspired by the incredible relationships we have built with customers and brand ambassadors over the years. We wanted to create something that celebrated the joy and friendship that comes from being part of a dog-loving community.”

What has been the most rewarding part of building Team Teddy so far?

“Without question, the most rewarding part has been watching friendships and connections form through the community,”says Holly.We launched the brand ten years ago, so we have genuinely grown alongside our community.”

What strikes Holly the most is the global diversity of the group.“Seeing people from many different backgrounds and countries come together because of their love for dogs is incredibly special. It has also been wonderful seeing members support each other and celebrate one another's milestones and become genuine advocates for both the brand and the wider Team Teddy family.”

What do you wish more people understood about Team Teddy at first glance?

Holly is honest about a common misconception. People initially see Team Teddy as a brand community, a platform for promotions and product news. The reality, she says, is much deeper. 

“Team Teddy is really about people and their dogs. At its heart, it is built on connection, inclusivity and shared experiences. Whether someone has been with Teddy Maximus for years or only recently discovered the brand, there is a place for them within the community.”

That sense of openness is central to everything Holly has built. Team Teddy is not a closed circle; it is an open invitation for anyone who shares a love for dogs and the lifestyle that surrounds them.

Celebration because we believe every dog, every owner and every shared moment deserves to be celebrated.”
