The Beginning of Teddy Maximus – A British Tale

In the heart of England, amidst a country steeped in history and tradition for craft, Teddy Maximus embarked on its journey. We wanted to create beautiful products with heart and style.

The inception of Teddy Maximus was inspired by a passion for pets and a vision to create accessories that embody luxury and refinement. Finding the right craftspeople to make our products was key. 

Our leather dog collars are made by our Leathersmith Mo and bear the hallmarks of quintessential British quality.This journey from a concept to many of the products you see today underscores a commitment to excellence and an unwavering dedication to creating products that stand the test of time. 

 The Craft Behind the Collar – Excellence in Every Stitch

Here are a few photos of Mo making our webbing and leather dog collars and leads, each step done by hand, piece by piece.

First of all Mo cuts the webbing to size, and then uses leather knives (that look much like pastry cutters for leather) to create the leather pieces.

Mo debosses our Teddy Maximus logo onto the leather pieces on a special embossing machine.

Mo seals the webbing before attaching the brass hardware to the collar or lead and carefully stitching the leather in place. This step takes alot of concentration to ensure a polished finish.
