Teddy was lucky enough to enjoy a weekend in Salcombe recently and we were thrilled with the amount of dog friendly locations and people about!

A must visit is the Victoria Inn pub with their very own 'a la bark menu' with all proceeds going to Hearing Dogs. Teddy chose 2 bonios and a chew, which went down a treat. The pub also has dog blankets and water bowls. The food for humans is great too! The fish pie - delicious! 

A beautiful hotel to consider is the Salcombe Harbour Hotel. Stunning views of the estuary await, with wonderful food, beautifully appointed nautical rooms and a super service. The spa treatments are a welcome treat and for your special companion a dog bed is included in the dog friendly rooms. Plenty of dog bowls are also on hand. 

Oh and the shops! You'll be spoilt for choice in Salcombe. We loved Amelia's Attic with french toile on the walls and curtains, chandeliers and distressed french furniture.  The whole ambiance is a wonderful girly mix of lovely things in a feminine, boudoir-style emporium.

For an idyllic stroll along the beach with your dog there are plenty of options. You could take a small boat across from one side of Salcombe Harbour to the other - where you'll find fresh sand and a nice stretch of beach to stroll along...just watch the tide!

Another great contender is Bigbury on Sea - with a beautiful stretch of sand on both sides, separated by Burgh Island which is home to a famous art deco hotel, frequented by celebs. Make time for a drink at the Pilchard Inn, a quirky little pub dating back hundreds of years. Teddy loved stretching his little paws along the sand.
